DROVERS RUN PREMIUM HEATHCOTE SHIRAZ 2020 

This handpicked Shiraz was made with minimal intervention and natural fermentation. Grown on the ancient Cambrian soils of Heathcote it exhibits the hallmark depth and richness that has made the Heathcote wine region synonymous with Shiraz.

The 2020 vintage has wonderful balance and intensity of flavour.  Bright dark berry fruit and lifted spice dominate the aromas, with subtle supporting French oak.  The palate is plush and silky, loaded with dark fruited shiraz intensity. Fine structure and excellent concentration.

This shiraz is perfect to drink now, or to pop aside to enjoy in a few years.

The 2020 season will long be remembered as a unique year for so many reasons. The winter and spring was exceptionally dry and the vines were really in need of a good drink by Christmas, which thankfully they received. A dry and mild summer meant that ripening was even and the wines have great intensity and depth of flavour. The crop levels were well under average and only 1 tonne of grapes per acre were hand harvested.
